Kim Meyer

Kim fell in love with the sound of the harp in middle school. She now is an accomplished harpist who has been playing for over thirty years. She began her musical training at the age 4 with piano lessons, and at the age of 8 started violin lessons. She began taking harp lessons at the age of 12 in Sioux Falls, SD under the instruction of Anna Vorhes. She later moved to Minneapolis, MN to study with the late Frances Miller at the University of Minnesota. She then moved to Des Moines, Iowa to attend Drake University under the instruction of Mary Watts Foss, Principal Harpist of the Des Moines Symphony. She received her BA in Harp Performance. Kim expanded her repertoire with jazz and rock music under mentor Deborah Henson-Conant who is known as the “hip harpist”.

Currently, Kim performs at events throughout Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa.
